Ather Energy Selects Maharashtra for ₹2000 Crore Investment in Electric Vehicle Manufacturing

In a significant boost to Maharashtra’s automotive sector, Ather Energy, the renowned electric scooter manufacturer, has made its decision to establish its third manufacturing facility in Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC).

The announcement came following a meeting between Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ather Energy’s Founder, Shri Swapnil Jain.

This strategic investment, amounting to over ₹2000 crore, is set to generate approximately 4000 job opportunities in the state.

The state-of-the-art plant is poised to produce up to 1 million units of vehicles and battery packs annually, underscoring Maharashtra’s pivotal role in India’s electric vehicle manufacturing landscape.

Devendra Fadnavis highlighted that Ather Energy’s choice of Maharashtra aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for industrial growth in India.

He emphasized Maharashtra’s conducive business environment and robust policies that support innovation in the automotive sector.

The new facility’s location in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Marathwada, showcases the region’s growing significance as a preferred destination for automotive investments.

Enhanced connectivity through projects like the Samruddhi Expressway further solidifies the area’s appeal to investors.

This landmark investment not only strengthens Maharashtra’s position in the electric mobility revolution but also promises to bolster economic growth and sustainable mobility solutions across the state.
