Nazara Technologies' Subsidiary Datawrkz Acquires UK-Based Marketing Agency Space & Time for INR 52.3 Crore

Datawrkz, a subsidiary of gaming giant Nazara Technologies, has successfully acquired a 100% stake in the UK-based growth marketing agency Space & Time for approximately INR 52.3 crore.

The deal, structured as a cash and stock transaction, marks a significant step for Datawrkz as it seeks to expand its operations into Europe and North America.

Datawrkz, founded in 2013 by Senthil Govindan, specializes in advertising technology, focusing on accelerating user and revenue growth through optimized digital advertising solutions.

Following its acquisition by Nazara in early 2022, Datawrkz has been on a growth trajectory, with this latest acquisition aimed at enhancing its programmatic advertising capabilities by leveraging Space & Time’s expertise in growth marketing.

Senthil Govindan, founder and CEO of Datawrkz, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the cultural alignment and shared commitment to delivering value to clients.

“We anticipate this collaboration will significantly boost growth for both companies, with Space & Time driving our expansion in Europe,” he stated.

This acquisition is part of a broader expansion strategy for Nazara Technologies, which has recently been active in the global market.

The company announced a $100 million fund dedicated to international expansion over the next two years.

In addition to the Space & Time acquisition, Nazara has made several notable investments, including a 48% stake in Pokerbaazi’s parent company, Moonshine Technology, and a 15.86% stake in the gaming community platform GetStan Technologies for INR 18.4 crore.

Nazara’s aggressive growth strategy also includes plans to acquire Smaaash Entertainment, which is currently undergoing insolvency proceedings, as well as the recent purchase of UK-based gaming studio Fusebox Games for INR 228 crore.

To support these expansion efforts, Nazara is in the process of raising INR 900 crore from SBI Mutual Fund and other investors, having already secured INR 220 crore from the asset management firm.
