Zomato’s New Feature Eases COD Transactions by Adding Remaining Balance to Zomato Money

Zomato Introduces Instant Cashback to Zomato Money for Cash on Delivery Orders

Zomato has launched a new feature to simplify cash on delivery (COD) transactions.

Starting today, customers can pay delivery partners in cash and have the remaining balance instantly added to their Zomato Money account.

This balance can be used for future delivery orders or dining out, enhancing convenience for users.

The initiative, announced by Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal on X (formerly Twitter) via @deepigoyal, aims to address the common inconvenience of finding exact change during COD transactions.

“Starting today, our customers can pay delivery partners in cash, and ask for the balance amount to be added instantly to their Zomato Money account,” Deepinder Goyal stated.

This idea was inspired by a similar feature from BigBasket and was pushed forward by feedback from Zomato’s delivery partners.

Notably, three delivery partners, now working as product managers, advocated for the development and rapid implementation of this feature.

Their practical insights were crucial in shaping this solution.

By allowing the balance to be transferred to Zomato Money, customers can easily use the remaining amount for their next order or dining out.

This feature is expected to significantly reduce the friction associated with COD transactions, offering a smoother and more flexible payment experience.

Zomato’s new feature highlights its commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions, drawing inspiration from industry peers and leveraging internal insights to continuously improve the customer experience.

Today’s announcement follows Deepinder Goyal’s recent introduction of their new app “District” for going out experiences and “Brand Packs” to enhance customer loyalty.
