Zomato, one of India’s leading food delivery platforms, has unveiled a new “Group Ordering” feature aimed at making it easier for users to order food together.
The feature was announced by Zomato’s CEO, Deepinder Goyal, on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
With Group Ordering, users can now share a link with friends, allowing everyone in the group to add items to a single cart seamlessly.
This innovation eliminates the hassle of passing a phone around to collect orders, making the process of ordering food for gatherings much more convenient.
Deepinder Goyal expressed his excitement about the new feature, noting that it is being gradually rolled out to all customers.
He encouraged users to try it out during their next house party and share their feedback.
In response to the announcement, a user named Sukrant Luthra suggested that Zomato should also introduce a payment splitting feature to complement Group Ordering.
Deepinder Goyal quickly replied, confirming that a payment splitting option is “coming super duper soon.”
This latest update aligns with Zomato’s ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and streamline the food ordering process.
As the Group Ordering feature rolls out, it is expected to become a popular tool for social gatherings, making it easier for friends and families to order and enjoy their meals together.
