DroneAcharya Secures INR 50.44 Lakh Order from IIT Ropar for Drone Technology Training

DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations, a Pune-based drone technology startup, has secured a significant service order worth INR 50.44 Lakh from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar.

The order focuses on upskilling 150 individuals in drone technology through a specialised training programme.

This initiative is part of a broader agreement between IIT Ropar and the Centre for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE), under the guidance of the Punjab government.

The training programme will be conducted in 14 batches from August 2024 to January 2025, adhering to the guidelines set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

This effort aligns with the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), which aims to provide specialised drone pilot training to selected individuals across the region.

DroneAcharya’s recent success in securing this order follows another significant contract in March 2024 with the Adani Group.

The startup was tasked with providing DGCA-certified drone pilot training, focusing on the use of drones for mapping, monitoring, and inspection within Adani’s various business operations, including energy, infrastructure, logistics, and agribusiness.

In addition to these milestones, DroneAcharya has been actively expanding its services and clientele.

In February 2024, the startup partnered with Vimaan Aerospace to provide drone-related training and services.

Earlier in January, DroneAcharya also secured a contract with the Indian Army to offer advanced drone training at the Mechanised Army Courses Group in Ahmednagar.

Further diversifying its portfolio, DroneAcharya bagged a notable order worth INR 53 Lakh from Alter Dynamics & Artificial Intelligence to supply drones for inspection of piles above water, fulfilling stringent requirements for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

DroneAcharya is also expanding its infrastructure, having recently received approval from the DGCA to open its fifth remote pilot training centre in Karnataka.

The startup currently operates four training centres in Pune, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, and Jaipur, offering a wide range of drone-related training programmes, including DGCA-certified courses and application-specific training for sectors like agriculture and disaster management.
