DroneAcharya, a Pune-based defence tech startup, has announced an exclusive contract with Estonia based Krattwork to facilitate the local production and distribution of advanced defence drones in India.
This partnership aligns with the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, aiming to bolster domestic manufacturing capabilities in the defence sector.
Krattworks is renowned for its cutting-edge drone solutions, particularly its jamming-resistant intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) drones, which are equipped with both day and night vision capabilities.
The company also specializes in manufacturing fixed-wing aerial target drones, designed for heavy payload capacity and integrated with radar reflectors.
In an official exchange filing, DroneAcharya highlighted that the newly added drones would serve critical applications, including ISR missions, border patrolling, and continuous surveillance operations.
The Pune-based startup already manufactures first-person-view drones that are utilized by the Indian Army for surveillance, drone pilot training, and specialized defence missions.
Earlier this year, DroneAcharya secured a contract with the Indian Army for capacity building and advanced drone training at the Mechanised Army Courses Group in Ahmednagar.
The integration of Krattworks’ advanced drone technology is expected to significantly enhance DroneAcharya’s offerings to the Indian defence forces.
The partnership is particularly strategic, as Krattworks’ anti-jamming drones are anticipated to provide valuable support in high-threat environments and electronically contested zones.
Founded in 2017 by Prateek Srivastava, DroneAcharya has been rapidly expanding its portfolio, offering a range of solutions from multi-sensor drone surveys to pilot training and data processing.
Last year, the startup ventured into drone manufacturing and the spacetech industry.
In September 2024, the company set ambitious goals, targeting 200% growth in revenue, EBITDA, and profit after tax (PAT) for the financial year ending March 2025 (FY25).
Additionally, it aims to quadruple the number of DGCA-certified drone pilot training centers.
In FY24, DroneAcharya reported an impressive operating revenue increase of nearly 90%, reaching INR 35.19 crore, up from INR 18.56 crore in FY23.
The company’s consolidated PAT nearly doubled to INR 6.2 crore, compared to INR 3.42 crore in the previous fiscal year, underscoring its robust growth trajectory.
With this new partnership, DroneAcharya is poised to strengthen its position in the Indian defence sector, offering innovative drone solutions that cater to the evolving needs of national security.
