Blinkit, the quick commerce platform owned by Zomato, has launched operations in Jammu.
The company’s co-founder and CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, shared the news on LinkedIn, announcing the activation of three Blinkit stores in the region.
The new stores are located in Trikuta Nagar, Roop Nagar, and Akhnoor Road, and are already serving over 10 nearby localities with rapid delivery services.
This expansion in Jammu is part of Blinkit’s ongoing strategy to bring its fast-paced delivery model to more cities across India.
The platform recently went live in Kochi, ahead of the Onam festival, and has since launched its services in Bathinda, Haridwar, and Vijayawada.
This aggressive expansion comes as Blinkit aims to capture a larger market share in the growing quick commerce sector.
Blinkit is not only expanding its reach but also innovating to stay ahead of the competition.
Earlier this month, the company introduced its new quick food delivery service, Bistro, which delivers meals, snacks, and beverages within 15 minutes.
Currently in a pilot phase in parts of Gurugram, Bistro aims to provide a fast, convenient option for customers looking for quick meals.
Additionally, Blinkit has been testing a large order fleet in Delhi NCR, which will cater to bigger products like geysers, air purifiers, and gaming consoles, further diversifying its offerings.
On the business side, Blinkit reported impressive financial results for Q2 of FY25.
The company’s revenue more than doubled to INR 1,156 crore, up from INR 505 crore in the same quarter last year.
Blinkit also managed to reduce its adjusted EBITDA loss significantly, from INR 125 crore in Q2 FY24 to just INR 8 crore in the reported quarter.
With the Indian quick commerce industry booming, Blinkit is aiming to set up 2,000 dark stores by the end of FY26. As of Q2 FY25, the company operates 791 dark stores nationwide.
As Blinkit continues to scale its operations and introduce new features, the company is positioning itself as a leader in the rapidly growing quick commerce sector, further solidifying its presence in both metropolitan and smaller cities across India.
