Zomato-owned quick commerce platform Blinkit and Bharti Airtel officially launched 10 minute SIM card delivery across 16 Indian cities on April 15.
The move, announced earlier this week, enables customers to get Airtel SIMs delivered to their doorsteps with lightning-fast turnaround—further blurring the lines between telecom and quick commerce.
The service is now live in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.
Blinkit cofounder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa shared the news via X on April 15, stating: “Starting today, customers can get a SIM delivered and choose to get a new prepaid or postpaid connection, or switch their existing number to Airtel.”
Airtel has also streamlined the activation process. With Aadhaar-based self-verification now enabled, customers can activate their new SIMs from the comfort of home—no store visits, no paperwork.
The collaboration adds to Blinkit’s rapidly growing list of offerings.
In recent months, the platform has ventured beyond groceries to deliver electronics such as laptops, printers, and Apple products in select cities, through tie-ups with brands like HP, Lenovo, MSI, and Canon.
Parent company Zomato has been pouring capital into Blinkit to solidify its position in the quick commerce race.
In 2025 alone, it invested INR 2,000 Cr—INR 1,500 Cr in February and INR 500 Cr in January—bringing the total investment since acquisition to INR 4,300 Cr.
Looking ahead, Blinkit plans to double its network of dark stores to 2,000 by December 2025.
The platform recently expanded to parts of Jammu, further signaling its ambition to serve deeper into tier-2 and tier-3 markets.
Financially, Blinkit’s revenue soared 120% year-on-year to INR 1,399 Cr in Q3 FY25.
However, the adjusted EBITDA loss widened to INR 103 Cr from INR 89 Cr in the same quarter last year.
