GalaxEye has signed an agreement with iDEX to Develop Advanced Multi-Sensor Fusion System for IAF Satellites

GalaxEye Partners with iDEX to Develop Advanced Multi-Sensor Fusion System

Bengaluru-based spacetech startup GalaxEye Space has formally signed an agreement with Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) to develop a multi-sensor fusion processing system for miniature satellites intended for use by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

This collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of satellites capable of carrying multiple payloads up to 150 kg.

The innovative system will process data from a variety of sensors, including synthetic aperture radar (SAR), earth observation (EO), infrared, and hyper spectral sensors, before transmitting the analyzed data to ground stations.

According to GalaxEye, the system is designed as an independent, pluggable module that can be integrated into any multi-sensor satellite.

This module offers high processing throughput, power efficiency, compact size, lightweight reliability, compatibility with existing systems, and ease of maintenance.

The technology is engineered to handle the substantial data volumes generated by low earth orbit (LEO) imaging satellites, adhering to stringent power, size, and weight constraints while ensuring reliable performance in the harsh conditions of space.

About Galaxeye

Founded in 2020 by Denil Chawda, Kishan Thakkar, Pranit Mehta, Rakshit Bhatt, Satyanarayanan Chakravarthy, and Suyash Singh, GalaxEye emerged from the Avishkar Hyperloop initiative and global competitions organized by Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

The company is focused on developing advanced earth observation technology, particularly through satellite imaging.

They are developing the world’s first multi-sensor imaging satellite, the Drishti Mission, which will provide all-weather, day-and-night geospatial imagery. This technology will benefit governments, defense, and industries by enabling advanced geospatial analyses.
