BluSmart, an electric ride-hailing startup from India, has announced its first international expansion into the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The company will debut its chauffeur-driven luxury service in Dubai with a fleet of Audi e-tron cars, focusing on providing a premium and eco-friendly transportation experience.
BluSmart’s service will offer unique features such as zero driver cancellations, transparent upfront pricing, punctual arrivals, and a CO2 tracker that shows the carbon emissions saved after each ride.
Customers will have various options, including city rides, airport transfers, hourly rentals, and trips to other Emirates.
Currently, BluSmart operates around 7,500 electric vehicles (EVs) in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, with plans for significant fleet expansion.
The existing fleet primarily comprises Tata Motors Tigor EVs, alongside vehicles from MG Motor’s ZS EV and BYD’s e6.
The company recently signed an agreement with Citroën to add 4,000 units of the ë-C3 over the next year.
BluSmart sets itself apart from competitors like Uber and Ola by using a pre-booking model, ensuring timely pickups and zero cancellations.
Each BluSmart vehicle averages eight trips per day, generating an average revenue of approximately ₹400 per trip.
Co-founder Anmol Jaggi emphasized that most of BluSmart’s fleet consists of new cars, offering a better experience compared to the older fleets of their rivals.
“The UAE has set an impressive example in mobility and sustainable solutions. We are excited to bring BluSmart’s eco-friendly business model and customer-focused services to the UAE’s mobility market,” Jaggi stated.
“The future of transportation is electric, and we are thrilled to lead this change with top-tier EVs like the Audi e-tron. The UAE is our first step in the Middle East, and we plan to expand further in the region by partnering with governments, businesses, and consumers to build a greener, more sustainable future.”
Since its launch in 2019, BluSmart has completed over 15.1 million emission-free trips in India, boasting the largest EV fleet in South Asia.
